The Queen of the almond comes from the sun drenched plains of south eastern Spain and due to its limited yield and short harvest has become an exclusive delicacy among chefs and gourmets.
Marconas are flatter and more rounded they have a sweet buttery taste which when lightly smoked over hickory chips, dry roasted and seasoned give an exquisite addition to Tapas or the perfect partner to a glass of chilled bone dry sherry or a good gin and tonic.
Here at the Cheshire Smokehouse four generations of the Ward family have been smoking fine foods for over 100 years, using brick built smoke kilns and the finest hickory chippings. Every step is done in small batches by hand with care and attention to produce what we consider to be a world class product.
